"Somewhere" Project

For my project, I decided to place myself in the promotional poster for the film Parasite. This is one of my favorite movies because it has multiple layers and meanings, and it was my first choice for this project. I chose this poster specifically because it gives a brief teaser of the movie without spoiling the whole film.
For this project, I took a picture of myself in front of a solid color wall, and used both the magic wand and the selection tool in Photoshop to create the illusion that I was actually in the poster. This project took me about 3 hours total and I am very proud of the result.

  1. Feedback:
    1. I like you added yourself onto the cover, such a creative spin!
I like how you included the black line over your eyes as well.
    2. I would suggest maybe wearing lighter color clothes to blend in with the other actors.
I would also suggest maybe adding some kind of effect or adjusting the lighting of your picture to better blend with the coloring of the cover.
    3. I like how you positioned yourself behind the letters.

  2. Chris!! I love this movie so much and I'm so glad you placed yourself in this poster. I'm upset I didn't come up with the idea myself LOL. One thing I would suggest to improve is maybe to change the lighting to better blend with the actors. Other than that I think you did a great job!

  3. I have never seen this movie before! I think you made yourself fit into the scene very well. I like how you added the black line across your eyes like the other characters have. The only suggestion I have would be to make yourself a little brighter to try and match the other characters a little more. I think you did a great job on the project!

  4. Saw this movie a while back and loved it. I think you did a great job with your outlining and fitting yourself into the image. It must have been tricky under the title of the film but you made it appear as if you were behind the letters and that was a nice touch. My only suggestion would be to work on the color balance as your outline is very different to that of the original image. Regardless, keep up the great work.

  5. I think you did a great job with this assignment. I think you did an amazing job with positioning yourself correctly and creatively in this picture to really appeal to the viewer. The only advice I would be to adjust the opacity of yourself or even the lighting to make the rest of the image blend a little bit better. Overall, great work.

  6. This is SO COOL! Loved this movie and the concept that you took with the poster. I think the proportions could match a little more and maybe if you added a slight blue green filter over yourself it'd blend a bit better, but besides that I think that this is awesome and you did a great job!
